In 1996, AOK commenced its Gymball evolution and testing programme. Ever since then world leadership examining protocols has been developed for inflatable PVC products. As a consequence of this work the MaxBall and DuraBall were presented.

Dura Ball Pro

The Dura Ball Pro has a 500kg burst resistance and will slowly deflate when pierced giving the user enough time to get off, greatly shortening the hazard of injury.

This can easily be two and a half times your body weight, so for an 80kg person applying a pair of 10kg dumbbells the impingement load could easily exceed 250kg.

Regular gymballs compress under heavy loads, the MaxBall preserves round shape under heavy loads.

AOK Gymball test

A 2 inch cut was made into the gymball with a sharp knife, assuming an object puncturing a gymball on the gym floor.

A 75kg person stayed seated on the gym ball, squeezing the air to travel out of it. After approximately 30 seconds, there was still adequate air in the gym ball to hold the user, allowing them plenty time to safely get off the gymball without acquiring injury.
